Why would they hate Sanders? Dude has literally been fighting for equal rights for 50 years

Black voters tend to care more about electability than anything. In 2008, they heavily favored Clinton until Obama won Iowa, then seemingly overnight, switched to Obama. Black voters are often more conservative/moderate socially than whites.

They probably favor Biden because he's familiar and seems like he would win. If Sanders or Warren win Iowa, I bet they switch their allegiances.

after him acting like an asshole to congress, I don't know why anyone is shocked. Trump wasn't going to use "executive privilege" because he knew Lewandowski would go to bat for him.

Sanders at 18 isn't far behind and not at all surprising. As much as the youngs hate Biden, the olds hate Sanders. Warren continues to look like the best candidate in those polls to me.

I like Warren, but I just feel like something about her is going to not win over enough independents and we are going to lose to Trump again. That's when it'll all go completely to shit.

2008: Yes we can
2016: Make America Great Again
2028: We shall consume the flesh of our enemies

what's the better plan?

1) attract 2016 trump voters to vote D, at the risk of not exciting the progressives of the party
2) attract new progressive voters by having a progressive platform that may alienate moderate democrats and 2016 trump voters

i think the first one is more conducive to defeating trump because progressives are #nevertrump and would still be likely to turn out to vote against him

I'm sure people are hoping to split the difference with Warren. Sanders seems to be getting attacked for being the lefty in the race, but no one is attacking Warren. On anything, really. It's like Sanders is attracting all the abuse that Warren would if he weren't running.

She still should have run in 2016. Fucking Clintons, man.

bernie's getting attacked more because he's a bigger threat imo. less in bed with big money and he seems more authentic about his message than warren.

i trust bernie in the hoopla of the debates against trump more than warren too.

bernie's detractors are successfully marginalizing his campaign as socialist and his policy of a federal jobs guarantee plays right into that imo.

You make a lot of assumptions in these two options. Anyone who is voting Trump at this point is all in on Trump I don't believe there is a person alive with a neutral opinion on the matter. So you must convince people to show up instead

Currently
These guys vote
These guys don't

The correct strategy is to turn out the youth and progressive vote. Literally anyone but Biden will do that.

Obama -> non voters
Obama -> Trump voters
New 2018 suburban voters
Make sure black people are allowed to vote

Those are the actual targets.

AZ, GA, NC need to get a huge focus because of the senate races. PA and MI should be ok, I'm not as sure about WI.

flipping the senate, as impossible as that seems, would be so awesome. seeing Mitch McConnell have to be in the minority again would be nothing short of euphoric.

It might be helpful to get a few of these Republicans up for reelection to vote to not remove the criminal president.

Fair, just right now it looks okish. 2018 Gov and Sen races were big wins, House was fairly big, Trump is -10 in the state and -15 with independents. And he won last time by 45k votes.
